K-12 Connect

K-12 Connect is a nonprofit organization founded in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic as a direct-to-families homework helpline housed within Grand Valley State University’s NextEd Co-Lab. Since then, we have evolved into a powerful resource for schools, districts, and charter management organizations, partnering with them to provide science-based, high-dosage, relationship-driven tutoring to K-12 students. Our programs are flexibly and collaboratively designed to provide tutoring inside and outside of school, seven days a week. Our programs offer various evidence-based tutoring options in a 1:1 environment virtually, including targeted literacy support for readers in first through twelfth grades and targeted math for first grade through Algebra I students. Through innovative collaboration and co-design, K-12 Connect equips schools, communities, and families with tools that support better academic, social-emotional learning, and life outcomes for kids to accelerate learning and close educational gaps through accessible support for all students.
