2025 Horse Camp Schedule for Starlight Stables Dates for Horse Camps: June: 24th, 25th, 26th July: 8th, 9th, 10th Aug. 12th, 13th, 14th Horse Camps hosted by Jennie Crawford (Harmony Horsemanship certified instructor), as well as a certified elementary and special education teacher. Horse camps will be co-hosted by Ben Crawford. Camp will be held at our farm, Starlight Stables in East Alstead N.H. Located at 271 Old Settlers Rd. Alstead, N.H. Camp is open to kids ages 5+! No prior knowledge of horses is required, just an open mind to learning, and a love for horses is needed! Campers will learn how to care for horses from daily care to riding. Kids will learn about safe horse handling and riding using Harmony Horsemanship techniques. We will also explore trick training and an introduction to liberty. Also, kids will up their knowledge about horses in daily learning sessions on a wide variety of topics from veterinary care to cleaning tack! If you are looking for a camp for your horse-crazy child, well this is it! Each day we will do a horse themed craft as well! During the summer months we will also escape the heat of the day at Vilas pool where there is a lifeguard on duty. Then, return to the farm for some more horsey fun! Kids with prior horse knowledge are also encouraged to attend. We will have 2 daily learning sessions (one in hand and one riding) about passive leadership, creating a "yes" horse through the use of positive reinforcement, building confidence for both horse and rider, learning strategies to create a calm horse, and an introduction to liberty and trick training! All great tools riders can take back to use with their own horses! Along with all the horse-centered activities, there will also be daily crafts and outside activities including going to Vilas pool during the heat of the day for a swim and to cool off. This will be a weather permitting activity! Vilas pool has life guards to help ensure safety while enjoying the water. if your child enjoys horses and swimming, this will be a great camp for them! The cost of the 3 day camp is $300.00. A $50.00 deposit is required to hold your child's spot. Final payment is due before your child starts camp! Space is limited so please reach out ASAP if interested Horse camp is a day camp. Drop off time is 8 am each day with a 3:30 pick up time. Please have your child bring a lunch and snack each day!
